Screened at the Jump Super Anime Tour 2002 (Fall/Winter 2001). The staff is the same as the TV anime version. Subsequently, from issues 8 to 10 of *Weekly Shonen Jump* in 2002, videos were distributed as part of a reader giveaway campaign. It was also first released on DVD in the DVD-BOX "Hikaru no Go Complete Collection" released in November 2009. This work is unique in being animated using hand-drawn cels, giving it a different atmosphere compared to the digitally produced TV anime version.
