"Star Wars Rebels" (English: Star Wars Rebels) is a television animated series in the Star Wars franchise launched by Disney in 2014. It is the first collaborative work produced after Disney's acquisition of Lucasfilm in 2012. This animation continues the classic film series, with the story set 14 years after Episode III and 5 years before Episode IV, beginning in the dark period following the execution of "Order 66," when Jedi across the galaxy were systematically hunted down. Classic characters such as Darth Vader, Darth Maul, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Wilhuff Tarkin, Princess Leia, and the droids R2-D2 and C-3PO are all presented in 3D animation.
