Schwarzwald and Edgar are two magicians with stern expressions but extraordinary skills. On this day, they sit side by side, about to perform a spectacular magic show. Initially, both are polite and elegant in their demeanor. After some courteous deferrals, Mr. Edgar finally stands up first to perform. He opens the top of his skull, revealing a cold, mechanical stirring device inside. He tosses a fish into his head, inserts a crank into his ear, and begins to stir. The astonishing performance earns enthusiastic applause from Schwarzwald and the audience. Next, Mr. Schwarzwald rises to perform. He places his hat on a wire, then picks up a violin and begins to play. Accompanied by the music, various small parts jump out of the hat, assembling into figures like clowns, monkeys, and donkeys—utterly marvelous. Schwarzwald’s performance also wins applause.
The two artists take turns on stage, but jealousy and hatred seem to be growing within their hearts…
