The animated film "World Masterpiece Fairy Tales: The Forest is Alive" was released in Japan on March 15, 1980, as part of the "Toei Manga Matsuri." Following the spring 1977 release of "World Masterpiece Fairy Tales: The Swan Prince," this marks another work for which Kyoko Miyazaki contributed to the screenplay under the pen name "Rumba."
