Xiaolin learns archery and as soon as he can shoot an arrow onto the target, he thinks his skills are almost there, ready to go hunting with his hound. His grandfather stops him, telling him to hit the bullseye first. When his poor archery skills draw mockery from a crow, Xiaolin angrily shoots a flurry of arrows at the crow, and unexpectedly, one hits the bullseye. Though it was just a fluke, Xiaolin believes his archery is almost perfect and decides to go hunting.
Arriving in the forest, Xiaolin sets his sights on a wolf. Little does he know that his archery skills are not almost there but far from it. Many arrows fly, yet the wolf remains unharmed. At this point, the wolf sees through Xiaolin’s empty bravado and begins to attack him. In a moment of crisis, Xiaolin climbs a tall tree, but the wolf quickly gnaws through the tree with its teeth. Just as his life hangs in the balance, Xiaolin hears his grandfather’s voice.
