Young Xiao Liang found a red envelope containing twenty-five yuan near the bus stop. He quickly asked the passengers if anyone had lost money. An elderly man named Zhang said he had lost the money meant to buy pesticide for the production team. Xiao Liang handed him the money, but the old man insisted it wasn’t his. To help the old man find his lost money, Xiao Liang searched everywhere the old man had been but found nothing. He offered to lend the money he had found to the old man to buy the pesticide. Worried that the real owner might be anxious, the old man declined the offer and instead borrowed money elsewhere to purchase the pesticide at the supply and marketing cooperative. However, the salesperson told him that someone had just bought the same amount of pesticide for the Gaofeng Production Team. Old Zhang found this strange and hurried back to his team to inquire. There, he learned that a worker had found his wallet and, following the address and pesticide quantity written on a note inside, had bought the pesticide and delivered it to the team. The old man wanted to thank the worker, but the worker had left no name or address.
Meanwhile, Xiao Liang was anxiously searching and waiting for the owner of the lost money at the bus stop. Suddenly, he noticed a worker with his head down, looking for something on the ground. Upon approaching, he realized it was Uncle Li, whom he knew. After asking, Xiao Liang learned that the money he had found belonged to Uncle Li. He returned the money to Uncle Li and recounted the story of the old man’s lost money. Upon hearing this, Uncle Li told Xiao Liang about how he had found the money and bought the pesticide on behalf of the old man. The two then happily headed home together.
