In 1958, a group including Xu Jingda (director of the animated film "Three Monks") collectively created a short animated film titled "Catching Up with Britain." The film loudly proclaimed the slogan, "To change the impoverished and backward state of our country, China set a goal in 1958 to catch up with Britain within fifteen years." Thus, "the Chinese working people first rode fast horses, then switched to motorcycles and rockets, leaving the British John, riding a cow, far behind." Fifteen years have long passed, and another fifteen years have gone by; the third fifteen-year period has already begun. All the beautiful aspirations of humanity can be realized in animated films. In the real world, there are no fairy godmothers' magic wands, nor flying magic carpets. Enemies do not crumble because they are vilified in cartoons, nor do friendships last forever because they are praised in animated films. The real world is far more bizarre and unpredictable than the cartoon world.
