Using the style of a historical animation, this work delves deeply into the outstanding traditional cultural essence contained within the 168 family rules of "Zheng Yi Men," extracting the essence and discarding the dross. It takes the story of the family head, Zheng Lian, as the warp and the family rules as the weft, illustrating the importance of "family ethos" and "rules" through 12 vivid stories such as "Zheng Hao Refuses Gifts" and "Frugality in Managing the Household."
These stories include "Governing the Family by Law," "Family Rules Are as Firm as Mountains," "Zheng Hao Refuses Gifts," "Parading to Return the Plaque," "Rectifying Conduct and Eliminating Malpractices," and "Benefiting Others and Oneself." Among them, the chapter "Zheng Hao Refuses Gifts" tells the story of Zheng Hao, a descendant of the Zheng family, who, while serving as a county magistrate, rejected extravagance and gift lists, resisting various temptations and maintaining integrity as an official. It reveals the family rule that "officials should prioritize serving the country, show compassion for the people, and must not take even the slightest improper gain." Meanwhile, the chapter "Dedicated to Public Service" recounts how Zheng Lian, as a grain official, refused to grant personal favors or accept bribes, impartially measured the land under his jurisdiction, and compiled tax registers. This story highlights the family rule: "Fairness ensures the people dare not be disrespectful; integrity ensures officials dare not deceive. Fairness breeds clarity, and integrity breeds authority."
Through the medium of animation, "Zheng Yi Men" guides party members and cadres to promote the excellent traditional culture of the Chinese nation, draw inspiration from the essence of family rules and ethos, consciously take the lead in establishing good family traditions, guide social trends, and foster a clean and upright social environment.
