The story revolves around the daily trivialities of the lively and adorable 5-year-old boy Gu Debai and his family. The family of three lives in a cozy little home in Tianchen Community. Though the house is small, it is filled with love, and each day brings many little laughs. Every morning, the sound of Mom yelling at Gu Debai to wake up echoes through the house, along with Dad’s off-key vocal exercises and Gu Debai’s soft murmurs. These sounds blend together and drift out from this tiny home, painting rainbows in the sky above the city. Though the Gu Debai family is not wealthy, they face life bravely and cherish it deeply. Life may bring them many hardships and disappointments, but they interpret and dissolve the pressures in their own way—bringing joy to themselves, entertaining others, and spreading happiness to those around them. Gu Debai is a child with his own innocent world, using his childlike words to depict everyday life with a unique perspective that never fails to amuse.
