The protagonists are Maru-chan and Nikki, second-year members of the Momigaoka High School (Pichi High) baseball club. Driven off the field by the soccer team's second string, they always practice catch while chatting on the riverbank beside the school. This is an ultra-short animation, about one minute long, featuring these two lovable characters as they unfold their surreal, gag-filled youth.
This work is jointly produced by eight Fuji TV affiliate stations (TNC, STS, KTN, TKU, TOS, UMK, KTS, OTV) based in various prefectures of Kyushu and Okinawa. The animation production is handled by DLE, known for works like "The Secret Society Eagle Talon." It began airing in February 2010 as an anime limited to that region, and its unique concept made it popular locally. The DVD compiles all 12 TV episodes totaling 12 minutes and adds about 8 minutes of video extras. It includes three bonus features: "We're the Exclusive Cheerleaders!", "I Want to Throw a Magic Pitch", and "Petit High Baseball Club," as well as "Karaoke Demonstration" and "Karaoke Practice" tracks.
