On the rooftop, a middle-aged man smoking a cigarette while watering his plants accidentally falls from the building. In the moment before his death, he seems to see his brief life flash before his eyes. "You are about to die," "So this is the best and fastest place for you" echo repeatedly in his mind. In 1961, he was just a newborn baby. Yet as time relentlessly flipped forward on the calendar, the man’s life shifted from vibrant and colorful to dull and monotonous. By 2011, he finally broke down in front of his computer. Must such a monotonous life continue as it always has? In the final second before hitting the ground, the man suddenly finds peace, leisurely lighting another cigarette.
This darkly humorous animated short, reminiscent of early Disney works, is directed by London-based freelance artist Steve Cutts. He has created animations for numerous world-renowned brands such as Coca-Cola, Bacardi, Toyota, Reebok, Sony PSP, and Philips.
