This art film is a paper-cut animation, with art design by Han Meilin. On the summit of Dingtian Mountain, a painting of a fox on a wall is rumored to be a living, ferocious wolf with two large fangs, three eyes, four ears, and five legs. All the animals are so frightened that they hide in their homes. When this news reaches the ears of a cunning fox, he conspires with an old wolf to disguise themselves as the legendary ferocious wolf. A young hunter, also terrified by the tale of the vicious wolf, hides under his blankets. However, driven by the need to eat, he eventually ventures out to hunt, clinging to a sliver of hope. As fate would have it, his worst fears come true—a strange cry shatters his courage, and the appearance of the "ferocious wolf" causes him to drop his hunting rifle. From then on, nightmares haunt him, and he becomes a coward unworthy of being called a hunter.
