When animals of different personalities approach a single-log bridge from opposite directions and meet, they each have their own way of crossing.
The simple-minded pandas politely yield to each other. The hot-tempered rhinos butt heads and both fall into the water. The monkey, seeing its rival, chooses to pass underneath the bridge. When a hedgehog meets a leopard, it’s hard to say who will come out worse. The fox, encountering an elephant, can only accept its bad luck, while the little white rabbit carrying a carrot on its head seizes the chance to follow the elephant across. The cat chasing the mouse—both in a hurry—meets a slow-moving, large family of sheep and has no choice but to run over their backs. The puppy gnawing on a meat bone sees a human, pees, and turns back around. When an innocent boy and girl meet, all it takes is a farmer’s carrying pole to settle things peacefully. As for the unreasonable man and woman who encounter each other—the bridge may collapse, and both may tumble into the water.
