As night falls and all grows silent, when people sweetly drift into dreams, the world of books is just beginning to raise the curtain on its evening festivities. "Old King Cole" opens the book, revealing a majestic and solemn castle, where the king grandly invites characters from bedtime stories, fairy tales, and folk ballads to attend a royal ball. At his call, books such as "The Pied Piper" and "Little Boy Blue" open one after another, and familiar classic figures like the Three Bears and Little Red Riding Hood step out of the pages, singing and dancing their way toward King Cole's castle. As the ball begins, three little kittens, three blind mice, and ten little Indians make their appearances one after another. They sing heartily, dance joyfully, and lose themselves in the beauty of the enchanting night...
This film is a remake of the 1931 black-and-white animation "Mother Goose Melodies," incorporating more details than its predecessor and featuring over twenty characters from fairy tales.
