The new comedy channel series "Moonbeam City" follows the handsome but dim-witted detective Dazzle Novak (Rob Lowe) as he attempts to clean up the streets of crime with the help of police officer Chrysalis Tate (Kate Mara). However, he is plagued by misfortune—especially when he crosses paths with his arch-nemesis, Rad Cunningham (Will Forte). Dazzle's excessive idealism leads to... him committing more crimes than most criminals. To make matters worse, his rival Rad is always looking for an opportunity to catch him slipping, ready to ruin him completely. Dazzle has a sexy but exceptionally overbearing boss, Pizzaz Miller (Elizabeth Banks). Fortunately, the city has at least one competent officer: Chrysalis. This animated series blends many elements of 1980s crime dramas: absurdism, realism, violence, and "rampant sexuality." The first episode has already premiered online in advance.
