太阳之子

This is a sci-fi adventure anime produced in 1982, with each episode running 28 minutes for a total of 39 episodes. The animation was produced by Studio Pierrot. From episode 7 onward, it became a co-production with France's DIC, leading to a change in direction that introduced prominent sci-fi mecha elements not originally present. In Japan, it aired on NHK General TV from June 29, 1982, to June 7, 1983. In France, it was broadcast starting September 28, 1983, within the children's program Récré A2 on Antenne 2. It was re-aired on NHK Satellite TV 2 (NHK BS2) from April 6, 1998, to January 4, 1999. However, as NHK had erased the original master tapes after the license expired and the rights holder, MK COMPANY, had also lost the original masters, print films were re-imported from France, and the audio was re-dubbed. All voice actors except for the protagonist Esteban's were changed.
