Anime Type: Hand-drawn, 2D computer animation, stop-motion animation, live-action
In 1969, 14-year-old Beatles fan Jerry Levitan brought his reel-to-reel tape recorder to the Toronto hotel where John Lennon was staying and convinced him to grant an interview on the topic of world peace. Thirty-eight years later, Jerry produced "I Met the Walrus" to recount that experience. The film's title is derived from a Beatles song, "I Am The Walrus."
The film employs a variety of artistic styles, blending traditional hand-drawn animation with computer animation and real-life footage, thereby fully visualizing the original audio interview with wisdom and insight. It inevitably brings to mind the award-winning 2005 Canadian animated short film "Ryan."
