In a cozy and comfortable farm, the little animals are busily and nervously at work—some hammering nails, some sawing wood, and others transporting materials. It turns out that the little mouse Mickey has obtained a book by his idol Charles Lindbergh titled "How to Fly," and he has mobilized his friends to build a simple airplane. The first test flight ends in failure, leaving Mickey deeply discouraged. Undeterred, he perseveres and builds a more sophisticated aircraft, inviting his girlfriend Minnie to join him for a ride. The initial flight causes great chaos due to his lack of skill, but once they finally take to the sky, Mickey becomes smug and hopes to receive affectionate feedback from his girlfriend...
This film is the first installment in the Mickey series (a silent film), which was screened on a small scale but never publicly released. It wasn't until the success of the first sound animation, "Steamboat Willie," that this film was released alongside "The Gallopin’ Gaucho" (the 2nd installment) and "The Barn Dance" (the 4th installment).
