In the home of the famous Viennese musician Johann Strauss lives a little mouse named Johann. Whenever the musician plays a beautiful waltz, little Johann can't help but emerge from his hole and dance gracefully to the music. However, the house's old cat Tom has no interest in appreciating the music; all his attention is focused on catching Johann. Yet, every attempt ends in failure.
One day, when Strauss goes out for a performance, little Johann stays hidden in his hole. In order to catch him, Tom plays a waltz himself, luring out the completely enchanted little Johann. The chase between them begins once more, but in the end, the two little creatures make peace and even perform passionately for the emperor in the palace...
