By the clear riverbank, Father Duck paces anxiously, for his wife is hatching their ducklings. After a long and painful wait, fluffy little ducklings break out of their shells one after another. Seeing his healthy and adorable children, Father Duck is overjoyed and showers his wife with kisses. Just then, the last egg begins to stir, and out comes a silly-looking white duckling. This enrages Father Duck, who suspects his wife of infidelity. The couple argues, and in the end, Father Duck heartlessly leaves. Mother Duck refuses to back down and resolves to raise the children on her own. She takes her little ones swimming and playing, yet she alone dislikes the white duckling who cost her her beloved. The little white duck endures ridicule from other small animals and, believing himself ugly, falls into deep sorrow...
