1980 Oscar-winning Best Animated Short Film.
Two ventriloquists begin their performance holding a child, using various sounds to tell us a story between a child and adults.
In the fairy tale, children are treated as gifts, delivered by angels to everyone's doorstep. However, each person has different feelings about the arrival of a child. Some are merely impulsive, while others find it hard to give up their work or free-spirited lives. As a result, the child is passed from one doorstep to another. Until they find a place that truly accepts them, cherishes them, and makes them a source of joy in life—yet that place may not necessarily have a door.
