She is the world's last lonely unicorn (voiced by Mia Farrow), living peacefully in a beautiful forest. In order to find her lost companions, she resolutely leaves her familiar forest and embarks on a journey to search for her own kind. Along the way, she is accompanied by human friends—a young magician Schmendrick (voiced by Alan Arkin) and an enthusiastic wandering warrior woman Molly (voiced by Tammy Grimes). During the journey, the unicorn, transformed into a human girl, falls deeply in love with Prince Lir (voiced by Jeff Bridges). Finally, after enduring numerous hardships and dangers, they join forces to rescue the imprisoned unicorns. She returns to her forest, living freely once more.
This fantasy animated film *The Last Unicorn* is adapted from the fantasy novel of the same name by American author Peter S. Beagle, with the screenplay also written by Peter S. Beagle himself. In 1982, the American company Rankin/Bass produced this animated film for the British ITC television company. Upon release, it achieved great success and became one of the classic animated films.
