On a farm, various livestock are raised as the private property of the farm owner, destined for a lifetime of labor and ultimately being sold or eaten. After a pig on the farm proposes the theory that "humans exploit animals, and animals must revolt," it dies. Soon, a revolution led by pigs erupts on the farm. The original exploiter—the farm owner—is driven away, and the animals fulfill their desire to "be masters of their own fate," tasting the sweet fruits of revolution. The farm is renamed "Animal Farm" and establishes its constitution—the Seven Commandments. However, not long after, a split occurs among the pigs who led the revolution, and one pig is declared an enemy of the revolution. From then on, the pigs who seize leadership gain increasing power and privileges, gradually distancing themselves from the other animals. Eventually, they transform into livestock exploiters no different from humans, and the name "Animal Farm" is abandoned. This film is adapted from George Orwell's 1945 novel of the same name, *Animal Farm*, and is also the first British animated feature film for theatrical release.
