Following "The Nightmare Before Christmas," Tim Burton's studio presents another stop-motion animated film. It tells the story of an orphan named James, who dreams of escaping his cruel aunts and traveling to the distant metropolis of New York. However, when a mysterious old man gives him magical crocodile tongues, they accidentally scatter across the yard, causing a giant peach to grow. James enters the enormous peach and meets six giant insects, who become his close companions. Together, they use their wits to make the peach fly across the sky and sail the seas, hoping to turn their dreams into reality. This story is a well-known children's tale in the United States, so the film's appeal lies not in its plot but in its filming techniques. It is another stop-motion animation by Disney after "The Nightmare Before Christmas," with Jack from that film making a special cameo appearance as the fearsome Ghost Captain. Disney's 34th classic animated feature, a full-length animated film. Adapted from the famous novel "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" by French literary giant Victor Hugo. Nominated for an Oscar for Best Original Score for a Musical or Comedy.
