A gifted young rabbit prophesies that a devastating disaster from humans will befall the current rabbit warren. He and a brave, clever rabbit named Hazel go to petition the rabbit chief, urging him to lead the colony away from their home, but are refused. Thus, before the disaster strikes, the young seer, Hazel, and several other male rabbits hastily leave the warren, embarking on a perilous adventure. After several life-and-death encounters with humans and other natural predators, they arrive at Watership Down and begin to establish a new warren... 　　 Due to a lack of female rabbits, the colony still faces the threat of extinction. They have no choice but to venture out once more, rushing to a farm to persuade caged rabbits to join their warren, while also sending a diplomatic envoy to a warren called Efrafa to seek mates. However, the courtship plan fails, leading to a deadly confrontation with its tyrannical and brutal chief. Ultimately, after great difficulty, they succeed in leading a large number of female rabbits back to Watership Down. Yet, everything is far from over—an even more dangerous battle awaits them...
