The story takes place in the town of Macca, surrounded by quicksand. Rumors spread that the notorious bandit Gasback has set his sights on this place. To defend Macca, Mayor Kepler gathers a group of thugs. Many bounty hunters flock to Macca, hoping to capture Gasback and claim the reward. Insurance investigators Meryl and Milly coincidentally arrive in Macca as well, and to their surprise, they discover that the heavily wanted "Humanoid Typhoon of the Century," Vash the Stampede, is also among the bounty hunters. Meryl senses that wherever Vash goes, chaos follows, and she tries to drive him out of Macca. However, Vash remains as shameless as ever, frequently flirting with the female bounty hunter Amelia. As Gasback and his gang close in on Macca, Wolfwood, who once fought alongside Vash, is unexpectedly among them. The lawless ones' wild banquet in the badlands begins...
