The story follows the Optimus Unit, a team of Autobots lacking in real combat experience, who find themselves confronting elite Decepticon survivors of the previous great war after discovering the AllSpark. Following the initial battle that sets events in motion, both the Decepticon leader Megatron and the Optimus Unit crash-land on an unfamiliar planet (Earth), shifting the stage from space to Earth. The narrative is structured with continuous, smaller episodic stories, culminating in an all-out war between the two factions towards the end of each season.
