This year marks the 10th anniversary of the classic anime *s.CRY.ed*, and to commemorate the occasion, SUNRISE has decided to remake the series. The original 26 episodes will be digitally remastered and re-edited into two parts, with additional original content. Excitingly, the dialogue for the new version will be re-recorded.
In early 21st century Japan, an unexplained crustal shift caused an area with a radius of 30 kilometers centered on Yokohama to suddenly rise, thereafter known as the "Lost Ground." Due to the Japanese government's street reconstruction plan implemented in this area, it became a unique two-tiered society. The people here were divided into "inners" who lived in the reconstructed zones and "outers" who lived in the collapsed zones. Before long, those born in the Lost Ground began to possess a supernatural ability called "Alter." Using this power, they engaged in continuous acts of violence and plunder, and people came to call them "Alter Users." In response, the police organization within the Lost Ground established a unit called "HOLY," composed of individuals who also possessed Alter abilities, to handle the situation. Against this backdrop, the story unfolds as Kazuma, an Alter User who grew up in the collapsed zones, encounters Ryuho, an Alter User belonging to HOLY.
