The official title is "ANOTHER STORY OF BUBBLEGUM CRISIS AD.POLICE." It is set five years before the formation of the Knight Sabers in "Bubblegum Crisis." Due to its hard-hitting theme of the crumbling boundary between humans and cyborgs, characters like Leon, who also appear in "Bubblegum," come across quite differently here. The original author, Tony Takezaki, participated in the early mecha designs for "Bubblegum" through connections with fellow doujin artist Kenichi Sonoda, which led him to write the source material. To maintain consistency in the worldview for the OVA, he was also heavily involved in numerous setting-related tasks. The year is 2027, in Mega Tokyo. In response to the rampant Boomers, the special police organization AD.POLICE, equipped with military-grade weaponry, was established. Leon, a rookie AD.POLICE officer, is dispatched daily on missions ranging from Boomer hunts to suppressing terrorism.
