This two-hour special is the fifth television special of "ONE PIECE" broadcast in the "Saturday PREMIUM" time slot. Additionally, upon the completion of its television broadcast, the production of a new film, "ONE PIECE FILM GOLD," was announced. As for this work, it centers around Sabo, the sworn brother of the protagonist Luffy, and features a newly animated version of the childhood memories with Luffy and Ace. The storyline differs somewhat from the original, and it also includes stories not depicted in either the original manga or the anime. The plot primarily follows Sabo's perspective as he infiltrates Dressrosa. The BD/DVD version will be released in Japan on November 27, 2015. In order to weaken one of the Four Emperors ruling the New World, Luffy and his allies, having formed a pirate alliance with Trafalgar Law, storm into Dressrosa. There, Luffy learns that the "Flame-Flame Fruit" of his deceased brother Ace will be the prize in the Corrida Colosseum competition show. To prevent the "Flame-Flame Fruit" from falling into anyone else's hands, he enters the tournament under the alias Lucy. Meanwhile, Sabo, the "other brother" who is active as a member of the Revolutionary Army, also infiltrates Dressrosa with his comrades.
