"Bakuman. 2" is a collaborative work by Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata following "Death Note." The protagonist, Moritaka Mashiro, is a third-year junior high student who, like most people, has no concrete plans for the future and prefers to go with the flow. He possesses a talent for drawing and secretly has a crush on his classmate, Azuki. One day after school, he realizes he left his notebook containing a portrait of Azuki at school. To prevent others from discovering his secret, he rushes back to retrieve it. However, his notebook is already in the hands of another person—Takagi. Takagi presents a condition to Mashiro, who wants his notebook back: "I'll write the story, and you do the art. Let's become manga artists together." For the sake of their dream, the two embark on the path to becoming manga artists. This work is the second season, which aired in the fall 2011 anime lineup.
