Many years ago, the chimpanzee family with a distinguished tradition became humanity's representatives sent into space for special missions. Today, as the third-generation heir of the chimpanzee family, Ham III (voiced by Andy Samberg) is naturally chosen as the new generation of space pilot to carry on the family's fine tradition. The reason is that NASA's $5.9 billion space probe has suddenly vanished into the vast galaxy. A new team of well-trained space chimps is needed to investigate this matter. In this space chimpanzee team, besides Ham III, there is also the bold and meticulous female chimpanzee Luna (voiced by Cheryl Hines), as well as the physically strong Titan (voiced by Patrick Warburton). After undergoing rigorous and comprehensive training at NASA, the "trio" finally embarks on a mysterious journey to explore the depths of space...
