This film is the sequel to "A Turtle's Tale: Sammy's Adventures." Sammy the sea turtle and his friend Ray have now become grandfathers and set sail with their two well-behaved grandchildren, Ricky and Ella. Unexpectedly, before they even leave the shore, they are captured by humans and taken aboard a ship, where they encounter Lulu, a schizophrenic lobster, and King, a master of playing dead—a strange fish. It turns out they are being sent to the world's largest and most luxurious high-tech artificial aquatic world as exhibits. Along the way, Sammy and Ray are separated from their two grandchildren!
Trapped in an underwater prison, Sammy and Ray meet a variety of oddly shaped but lovable marine friends, including Tatsu the clownfish, a flathead shark, Manu the neurotic fish, and the clingy fish couple, Consuelo. Everyone devises clever plans, determined to regain their freedom. However, the sea horse boss, Emperor, insists on taking charge and creates numerous obstacles, forcing everyone to follow his impractical escape plan. Meanwhile, Ricky and Ella search everywhere in the ocean for their grandfathers and befriend an octopus mother-daughter duo, Maggie and little Anna. Suddenly, Sammy and Ray come up with a brilliant idea: rally their marine friends and coordinate with Ricky, Ella, and the octopus rescuers to execute a prison break from both inside and out.
