The story takes place after Milo and Kida remain in Atlantis. Several cargo ships passing through the waters north of Atlantis are attacked, prompting Milo and Kida to join an arriving expedition team to investigate. They discover that the attackers are not the mechanical lobsters, but some other mysterious force. After overcoming this crisis, in order to find the most suitable way to handle the magical crystal, Kida embarks on a journey with Milo and the expedition team. She wants to uncover why her father initially hid the crystal, nearly causing their civilization to be destroyed. They must also decide whether to utilize the magical crystal or keep it hidden forever.
